Why roast coffee?
We all should know what goes into our cup of coffee. I want to know where my coffee comes from. You lose the flavor profile when you blend and over roast coffee. Bringing those flavors out and highlighting the process is a passion of mine and that is why I roast coffee.
The first wave.
I got my official start in college as a barista in Newport, RI with Empire Tea and Coffee. Unofficially it started in Rome when I was a kid, I would drink the last little bit out of my parents morning cappuccino. The rest was history.
A roasting surfer.
After college I went into nuclear security and then moved on to diplomatic security in the middle east. I missed the joy of working in the coffee world and wanted to get back asap. I devised a plan to learn how to roast and so far I have been in business for 6 months!
The mission is to bring high quality coffee and educate others on how much more you can get out of a cup of coffee. Welcome to the new wave of coffee drinkers. Todays coffee lacks the complexity and usually over roasted leading to a burnt taste. Then most local roasters only have 12 oz. bags, but I want to deliver a value with my one pound bags.
